Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, the Florida Press Association will be holding the second annual Public Notice Day on Wednesday, March 13, in Tallahassee.
The event will be during the 2019 Legislative Session when committees will be meeting and legislator and staff meetings can be arranged. We encourage publishers and senior media executives to come to Tallahassee to assist with the efforts on educating our legislators about the value of public notices and the role of the news media in the local community. You are encouraged to set meetings with the legislators from your district on this day, as the members of Florida’s news media comes together to make their presence felt in Tallahassee. (Find your state representative here and your senator here.)
At noon, there will be a lunch with guest legislators. Tickets to the luncheon are $40 and will be available for purchase starting next week. There will be a legislative training session at 4 – 5 pm Tuesday, March 12 that will provide details about the key talking points and answer any questions, with a reception at 5 pm. Registration information will be provided in the next e-Bulletin.
Additionally, FPA is coordinating an advertising campaign with quarter, half and full page ads to run in every member newspaper. Insertion orders will be sent by Intersect Media Solutions two weeks in advance, and the ads will also be available on the FPA website.
More details, including an agenda, will be provided closer to the date, but please mark your calendars for March 13!
