Deadline extended to Feb. 24 for FSNE Journalism Contest

Now is the time to submit those last minute entries! You now have until 11:59 pm on Monday, February 24, 2020 to enter this year’s Florida Society of News Editors Journalism Contest!

The General Contest and Spanish-language Contest are open to FSNE member news organizations that have paid their dues for 2020. The Student Contest is open to all Florida student-led news media and individuals enrolled as full-time students whose work appeared in student-led news media.

Material submitted must have appeared in a daily newspaper in Florida, a Spanish-language paper (daily or weekly) in Florida, or a daily Florida news organization’s website during the 2019 calendar year and must have been the work of staff members of the newspaper or Florida-based staff members of a news organization.

Things to know:

Circulation Form Requirement
In order to ensure all news organizations are placed in the correct division for judging, we require a new Circulation Verification Form to be completed every year. Forms must be submitted by the contest deadline in order for your entries to be judged.

Paul Hansell Award Deadline
The deadline to submit entries for the Paul Hansell Award for Distinguished Achievement in Florida Journalism coincides with the regular contest deadline of Monday, February 24, 2020. Full rules can be found on the website.
