Welcome Todd Wilson to the FPA Board!



Todd Wilson is publisher of the Lake City Reporter and a regional publisher with Community Newspapers, Inc. (CNI) in the company’s Lake City region. The Reporter is a five-day daily newspaper covering Columbia, Suwannee and Hamilton Counties in North Florida. The company also publishes nine magazines in the Lake City region.

Wilson has been the Reporter’s publisher for the past 12 years and has worked for the company for 17 years. He was the editor of the newspaper prior to his promotion to publisher.

Wilson, a Missouri native, has 32 years of newspaper experience. He has held various news and advertising jobs at weekly and daily publications in Missouri, Mississippi and Arkansas before moving to Florida 17 years ago. As a journalist and editor, Wilson earned more than 120 press association and Associated Press reporting awards, including leading his teams to four General Excellence Awards before moving to Florida.

In Lake City, three times his operation has earned the CNI President’s Award for journalism excellence among the company’s newspapers across the Southeast. Wilson also has created and launched five magazine products during his tenure as publisher.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Southeast Missouri State University while working full-time as a sports and news reporter at a local daily newspaper.

Wilson and his wife, Michelle, have two children, a grown son who is a police detective and a daughter, a college freshman pre-med student athlete who plays indoor and beach volleyball at an NCAA program in Alabama. They have two grandchildren.
