Former publisher Roger Quinn dies at 65

Roger Quinn, chairman of the Panama City Salvation Army Board and a former publisher of The Panama City News Herald, died Friday in Spartanburg, S.C. He was 65.

Quinn and his family moved to Panama City when he was named News Herald publisher in August 2012.

“He made a really good first impression,” said Rob Delaney, chief financial officer of Gatehouse Media’s Northwest Florida division. “I got sick right after he got here with meningitis, and I hadn’t known him, hadn’t worked with him very long, and he treated me and my family so well when all of that happened. For not knowing me, it was incredible, his generosity that he had.”
